Frequently Asked Questions
I’ve never been a patient before, where do I start?
Call 717-501-2515 or email us. We will get you set up with a time and answer all of your questions.
Do you take insurance?
No. See the ‘payment and insurance’ section below for more details.
I am afraid to be adjusted.
Have no fear! We have multiple different ways that we can adjust you. You do not have to be adjusted in any way that makes you uncomfortable here at HHC. Whether you are a lover of your neck being adjusted or you “hate the popping sound,” we can still give you relief!
I heard how chiropractic can do all of these wonderful things, but how?
God created our bodies wonderfully. Our bodies are self healing and self regulating. WE can adapt incredibly. However, these constant adaptations that build up over time can lead to breakdown and imbalances. Our focused adjustment help restore balance in your nervous system and bring your body back to its ability to heal and work as God intended it.
Will you adjust my baby the same way that you adjust me?
Absolutely not. See the ‘chiropractic services pediatric’ page for more info on baby adjustments.
Do I have to just choose one doctor at HHC or can i see all of them?
You do not have to just choose one. You can see any doc that you’d like and switch back and forth in between docs at any time if you’d like. We love the benefits of collaborative care here at HHC. While there is wonderful uniqueness to the way each doc adjusts they are all trained in the same manner and can all adjust you using similar knowledge.
How soon should I get adjusted after I have my baby?
We like to see moms as soon as possible and ideally not longer than 3 weeks postpartum for an adjustment. We take precautions and comfort measures for c-sections and breast engorgement while adjusting in those first postpartum weeks. We are pros at this and have dealt with almost every postpartum situation.
How early can my baby get adjusted?
Your baby can be seen as soon as the day that they are born. It is never too early for a baby to be adjusted.
I don’t think my child would get on the table or even stay still for an adjustment.
No problem here. We have dealt with almost every situation that comes with adjusting kids and babies. Your child can be adjusted while: playing in the play area, sitting on your lap, laying on your belly, watching their favorite show on your phone, etc. We do what makes the kids comfortable, we don’t make your kid fit into our office.
Is chiropractic care safe for children?
Yes. The adjustments are very gentle and specifically tailored to a child’s size, age, and developmental stage. Adjustments for children are not the same as for adults. They are gentle, precise touches—often using fingertips or light instruments—to help ease tension in the spine and nervous system. There’s no twisting or forceful movement. For infants, the amount of pressure of the adjustment is similar to checking the ripeness of a tomato. We hold that pressure and wait for your babys body to release tension. Imagine putting your finger on a cold stick of butter and waiting for it to melt. We can do simular techniques with toddlers and we also may use a tool called a clicker for a faster means of adjusting, because we all know how fast toddlers can be!
Why would a child need chiropractic care?
Chiropractic care helps support a child’s growing nervous system and spine. Families seek care for things like: sleep challenges, allergies, nursing/latch difficulties, head shape issues, colic, ear infections, “growing pains”, sports injuries, and to keep their kids from getting sick as frequently.
At what age can a child start chiropractic care?
Children can be seen from right after birth! We see many brand new babies, BEFORE any issues even arise because mothers know how much stress birth is on a babys body.
How long is a typical visit?
While every visit may differ in time, the first visit usually lasts 30 minutes to review history and perform an exam and adjustment. Regular adjustments don’t take as long, usually between 10-15 minutes.
How often will my child need to be seen?
We create specific care plans according to your childs issues. This depends on their age, health, and traumas. Babies may need care more frequently at first (to help with early developmental stages), while older children may benefit from monthly visits for wellness and maintenance.
Do children need X-rays before care?
Not usually. Most children don’t require X-rays unless there’s a specific concern or history of injury.
Do you work with other providers (pediatricians, therapists, midwives)?
Yes. We often collaborate with pediatricians, lactation consultants, midwives, OTs, PTs, and speech therapists to provide complete care for children.
Can chiropractic care help with sports and active kids?
Yes! Adjustments help improve mobility, coordination, and recovery. Many athletes (even at the professional level) use chiropractic for performance and injury prevention.
What makes your office unique for children?
Our office is designed with kids in mind—welcoming environment, play areas, and providers trained specifically in pediatric care (including Craniosacral Therapy and gentle techniques). We focus on making care fun, gentle, and stress-free.
Insurance
At HHC we are proudly a “free from insurance” practice. Insurances are used best to cover crisis and symptomatic care, not wellness and healthcare. The insurance company is not your doctor but, in many offices, your best healing interest is lost in the complicated ties between doctor and insurance. This means that the way your doctor decides is the best route of care for you is many times not covered by insurance. Therefore, when you’re a patient of insurance accepting offices, the providers have to think about how they will be paid by insurances, and that often changes the way that you are treated. With HHC you will never have to wonder about the honesty behind your care. You will heal unrestricted from the binds of insurance.
Luckily, our prices are comparable to that of a copay because we know how important receiving true HEALTHcare is for the entire family. We will happily provide you with resources for self administered reimbursement and we also take HSA card payment.

Preventative, family-centered chiropractic care for pregnancy, infants, and children—focused on wellness, not just relief.
